Page Created 12-03-2022 I have this little book I have kept for
years now with notes and ideas for New Pages Yesterday I ran across a note I did not
understand about Wimi Bingos, so I wrote to Gerald _ Mystery Scores _ When I made this entry in the little
book, I did not specify a Bingo Coy wrote back the next day with the
longest email he has ever written, Smile`…and now we know` _ Green Diamond Mystery Scores _ Mystery
score, IIRC,
this is a feature that was added on Green Diamond machines after the new law, Quick
Extra Ball feature, when you buy the extra ball before playing the first ball this
feature award one of four different random feature for your extra ball Higher
wins : Extra Ball "win limit" is increased (because the price of
the extra ball was limited to 50x coin value, the machine will cut off some
cards where the possible win for the extra ball was too high, this
"feature" does not exist before the law, where your extra ball value
depends on your maximum win) Highest
win only : Play only the card or playfield value that give you the highest
win. Mistery
win : cards or playfiled score "randomly" cuts off All
scores higher ;: basics scores are increased by 20% (see
instruction note added on the bottom of the playfield, picture joined) Also see this page (Green Diamond Related) http://danny.cdyn.com/unknownwimi.htm On
this page you say: “My best guess is, that this is one of the early releases
of Green Diamond - Perhaps for an Export Market`…perhaps by GAA for that very
purpose” Not
at all ! You are incorrect ! Before
the law, there was no limit for a game on 2 cards machine, while on 6 cards
game, a complete game with bonus feature cost 13x or 14x the coin value, with
a multiplier of max 10, this made the game cost at 650 or 700 BEF at max. When
the Belgium legislation was modified (1991 ?) all
bingo machines need to operate the following way : 5
ball game, only one extra ball allowed (Miss Queen used to have 7) One
ball game, same as before, only one extra ball. maximum
game cost 50x the coin value usually 3,4 or 5 BEF (250 BEF was the maximum
because this was before euro coin) maximum
extra ball cost : 50x the coin value (250 BEF max) The
maximum allowed to win for one game was also limited to 4000x the coin value. All
machines, from 1983-1984, were modified with a "conversion" kit
including new software, new security pal and new backglass or even some
stickers to modify the backglass. 2
cards machines, were never been the same again and begun to decline ! There
was many Miss Queen machines that were just produced a few years before !
(and probably still in production just before) So,
Wimi decided to make a conversion kit for Miss Queen machines ! (new front
panel with all lights, new backglass etc...) Since
the Miss Queen was sightly smaller than 6 cards bingo, the backglass did not
include the bingo name on it ! (there
was a sticker with the name to put on the wooden part top of the backglass !) I do
remember that Green Diamond and Euro Continental Star were available in this
format. So,
this WAS NOT an early release of Green Diamond, but a "later"
conversion kit for Miss Queen machines ! Take
care, you're welcome ! Gerald
(COY) OK, quite a bit to unpack in his email` Here is the game I thought might be some
“super early” version of Green Diamond It has no game-name like the other models
and is slightly different`…So, I posted it as an Unknown Wimi At the very end of Coy’s email, he
mentions this might be a “kit” to rework Wimi Miss Queens His email jumps: He first talks about
“after the law” and then talks about “before the law” – Smile So, it is a bit hard to follow as
written, but he mentions the change happened in “1991” which can help us date
some of the Bingos _ Before the Law _ Before

“end” of all 2-Card machines`…all the Miss Bowling - etc` Wimi had to shift gears and started
using/reworking old materials`…old Bingos Started releasing 6-Card machines as
quickly as they could` This is great history Gerald shares`…I
asked about one “mystery” and got informed about another` An untold story`…a gigantic change in the
Belgium Laws and Market` Smile`…glad I reached out - Wow When the “official” Green Diamonds start
coming out, the “WIN” meter, center-left there is eliminated` Another indicator that this is the
“first” in this series of Bingos ~ ~ ~ |
