Subject: Bingo motors in parts catalogs
Hi Danny,
Here's something interesting I wanted to share. I
have a few parts catalogs from Canadian coin operated equipment
distributors (Laniel, Wiko, Banco). I find they contain a wealth of
information. Most of the parts diagrams in the catalogs are taken directly
from the manufacturer documentation. They're a bit of a snap shot of
amusement technology.
The interesting part is when looking up for
replacement control unit and mixer motor (E-119-212, 1124, E-119-359B, etc)
in the Wiko and Laniel Catalogs. The motors are always referred to as
replacement motors for "Fun Cruise" and "All the way".
Never as a replacement for bingo machine motors. "Fun Cruise" is
a flipperless pinball machine from 1965 and "All the way" is a
shuffleboard game from 1964.
I guess distributors were trying to hide the fact
that they were selling bingo machine parts. Here attached is a picture of
the bally motor page out of a Wiko Canada catalog.
Cheers!
JF
