this example applies to many of the 1950s Bingos` -----------===----------- From: Danny Leach <bingopinballs@y> To: Bryan Carmichael <bryan_carmichael27@> Sent: Friday, March 14, 2014 9:33 AM Subject: Miami Beach #13 on the backglass doesn’t light up Hi Bryan, Now a great many of the problems in the Bingos are mechanical,
things like broken wires, dirty contacts, open bulbs – etc, that result in an “open circuit”
- Something isn’t working,
because an electrical connection of some kind is broken` open circuit …a burned out light blub open circuit …relay arms that are bent and the contacts no longer
touch correctly open circuit ….disc wipers arms that are out of position and no
longer touch the rivets correctly open circuit …contacts/rivets that are charred/burnt/dirty and no
longer contact correctly open circuit …someone cut a wire or used paper to block some stepper
contacts - etc Mechanical problems that cause an electrical circuit not to operate` …and this is a good place to start, in looking for your problem,
start with the basics …the bulbs` Go to quadrant K-27 on your schematic, those
numbered circles, circles 1 through 25 represent the bulbs. Those dark lines top-and-bottom are the +17v
power rail ~ So, if the fuse is good, if the bulb is good and if you have a ball in the corresponding
playfield hole, the bulb will light`
In order for the circuit to work correctly: The
bulb needs to be good, the socket needs to be in good shape, the wires cannot
be broken, and the contacts in the playfield hole need to be
operating correctly. Everything needs to be mechanically sound, so when the
playfield switch closes it completes the circuit, current flows
between the rails and lights up the bulb. Now if the bulb and everything look good, there
could be a problem on the “Search Disc” The disc is tied right to the bulbs and
playfield holes and can add in add another level of complexity, because it is
a parallel current path. Take a look at the schematic again, the search disk is shown in that same area` See the rectangle with the diagonal lines at K-34
Start with a good visual inspection: Wiper contacts not making good
contact with the rivets (offset), damaged or burned out rivets, Wiper alignment - etc. Often a good cleaning will solve problems
here. Please stay in touch! ~ From: Bryan Carmichael

well it was either the search disc or the search relay. I cleaned both & it’s working good. ~ That’s Cool Bryan You want it fixed, …an old friend once told me
to just climb in there and start working on it` ~ |
