	There are enough old Bally Bingo Pinballs in Argentina to the point where they have developed the desire, skills, and resources to perform some High Quality Restoration on this history _ Bravo! Please note: I think this article and the other one on my second page were actually together when I found them!!
	Bally Dude Ranch Restoration Para empezar con las imagenes y los trabajos realizados se me ocurrio comenzar con este bingo, fabricado por Bally a mediados de los años 50. No son faciles de encontrar este tipo de juego en la Argentina. No solo porque son bastante viejos ya, sino porque no han sido muy cuidados. Los tratamientos de las maderas no eran lo suficientemente buenos como para evitar que lo ataquen las polillas...asi que muchos bingos se han "desvanecido" casi literalmente a causa del "Taladro de la madera". Este tambien sufrio el ataque de este depredador! Pero se ha podido atajar a tiempo. Lo primero que se hace siempre con este tipo de maquinas es limpiar TODO: El gabinete por dentro y por fuera, desarmar el campo de juego, limpiarlo bien. Y luego aplicar un preservador/curador de maderas para evitar que siga avanzando. El campo de juego en este caso,y como pasa con muchos flippers tambien, habia sido cubierto por varias capas de barniz, que se va poniendo amarillo con el tiempo. Asi que la tarea mas tediosa es sacarle todo el barniz y la suciedad que tiene. Una vez que esa la pintura original a la vista, se preparan todas las zonas de madera limpia (riel lateral y corredera superior de la bola), y se empareja el campo de juego. Luego vienen las sucesivas manos de pintura, que son preparadas en base a los colores originales que tiene el playfield, y que en muchos casos varia levemente de una parte del campo de juego a otra, por los años, el desgaste y todo eso. Finalmente se hace todo el delineado del dibujo, y para terminar se laquea. Asi es como el campo de juego recupera su esplendor original, manteniendo una apariencia antigua, pero en buen estado. Wow!! _ What a turn-around _ Great Work!! (translation) Playfield Restoration: After several months, many more of the owner of this marvel would have liked, the Bingo Bally is installed in the home of Gustavo Frey, fully restored and functional. Hasta Gustavo mismo se ha dado el lujo de hacer unos "ajustes de ultimo momento"!!! Until Gustavo has given himself the luxury of doing some "last minute adjustments"! En este caso se trata de una maquina que fue muy mal tratada...los rieles de madera estaban pintados, la corredera superior de la bola tambien. In this case it is a machine that was very badly treated ... the wooden rails were painted, the top sliding the ball well. Y no podia faltar el maravilloso barniz, que todo amarillenta! And I could not miss the wonderful varnish, all yellow! El Backglass estaba partido en varios lugares y unido con un vidrio pegado encima. The Backglass was split in several places and glued together with a glass top. En este caso la unica solucion fue traer una lamina nueva de Inglaterra. In this case the only solution was to bring a new sheet of England. El proceso de restauracion de esta maquina fue bastante arduo, no tanto por la parte mecanica que estaba bastante bien cuidada (salvo unos manoseos en algunos cablecillos...), sino en la pintura del mueble y del campo de juego. The process of restoration of this machine was quite hard, not so much the mechanics I was pretty well maintained (except in some thin wire around groping ...), but in painting the furniture and playground. El mueble tenia varias capas de pintura de distintos colores. The cabinet had several layers of paint of different colors. Hubo que sacar sucesivas capas y tratar de recuperar el dibujo original, y una vez emparejada la superficie se volvio al dibujo 100% original. We had to remove successive layers and try to recover the original drawing, and once matched the drawing surface returned 100% original. El campo de juego fue todo un reto...habia que sacar la pintura que tapaba las partes de madera expuesta, y los rieles de madera superiores. The playing field was a challenge ... had to remove the paint that covered the exposed parts of wood and wood top rails. La misma dificultad estuvo en sacar el barniz que cubria todo el campo de juego y estropeaba los colores originales. The same challenge was to remove the paint that covered the whole pitch and spoiled the original colors. Por suerte se pudo recuperar el color original, y en base a eso volver a completar el dibujo faltante. Fortunately it was possible to restore the original color, and on that basis to complete the picture again missing. Luego se cubrio con unas cuantas manos de laca. Then covered with a few hands of lacquer. Y ahi tuvimos un pequeño problemilla con una pintura, que misteriosamente se mancho despues de haberse laqueado....nunca me habia pasado, pero siempre hay una primera vez! Por suerte no es algo tan complicado de solucionar...solo lleva tiempo. Fortunately it is not so complicated to solve ... just takes time. Asi que aca estan las fotos del "antes-durante-despues".
