Bingo Pinballs

I am still working on this history, but Don hooker left Bally in 62’ and sometime later formed Westronics with his partner Walter M. Burnside (Bernie) who invented the Reflex Unit for Lion Manufacturing (The company Ray Maloney had all of the bingo designs related to until 68’) and worked with Don on a couple of other bingo-items I’ll post later and also worked on a few other non-bingo-projects for Bally – After I piece together a bit more of a picture, I’ll post these relationships. Besides being an electro-mechanical engineer working in the Chicago Gaming Industry, I think the histories will show he was Don friend and that their career paths paralleled each other closely being so. The patent histories are already showing me that not only did they leave Bally at the same time, but both came back later at the same time to work on the one-arm slot machines together. In the 86’ Russ & Dick interview with Don, Mr. Hooker mentions that they (Walter and himself) designed one more bingo (Westronics) and tried to sell it to Bally, but they were not interested.

~ Hmmm! – I don’t think this is it – I think Bernie had a few of his own irons in the fire! ~

~ Man! Who knows what we missed – This thing looks Cool ~

Bally had nothing going on in 1964, the timing was perfect for something. Anything, and this might have just made the

grade, being odd enough to capture the interest of the players who were looking at the Barrel-o-Fun and Fun Spot bingos

as the last Bally releases. A bingo with “no ball return – Instead a second plunger to give the player another Skill Shot.”

~ A “Score Reset” button to let the player choose if he wants to start over! ~

~ You know me – I want one! ~
