Bingo Pinballs

My friend Jerry is a veteran player and has played the bingos for years across the length-and-breadth of America. Below I include a couple of his posts to me, related to the payout hoppers some of the bingos were configured with. Yes, a few of these machines were reconfigured with full-cabinets and mechanical payout systems to act just like the slots and pay you off. No owner/operator to have to deal with – laugh! So far, it looks like these bingos were all confined to Nevada, which makes sense and likely explains why we see so very few of them. At one point Nevada was the only place where these machines were legal.

The photo above was my first look at the hopper from a set of old files and photos sent to me from Raymond Watts. We have seen Silver Sails in a few odd cabinets now, but this is a still a duzzy. Someone had the right idea though, that predominately yellow work looks nice with the darker grain and would look great with better woodwork.

It looks like the same guy built this Laguna Beach cabinet and for sue it wasn’t the “Bally Boys” and might have been modeling after the old horserace one balls - Someone in Vegas was modifying these bingos, semi-professionally” for a living. If you enlarge the right picture, that place-card claims “Patents Pending” – I look this up one day.

~ By the clean looks of this Malibu Beach they pulled it off and perfected this system ~

Like the Malibu, this Palm Springs showed how they settled on a ½-Cabinet approach - Obviously to make the conversions much easier to “job-shop” and perform.

~ A heck of a lot nicer than this abortion– Yikes ~

~ Cleaner Yet! Is this nice idea from BingoJoe out of Utah where he uses old horse-race game cabinets ~

~ Awesome Joe – Thank you for the photos! ~

This machine works great and has a payout hopper added. Was used in casinos in Reno, NV. The metal legs were replaced with wooden case type legs to support the hopper for the nickles. It's the old bingo style machine with no flippers and payout is determined by where the balls land and the bingo card up on the screen, which switches automatically. This is a great machine and a blast at parties and gatherings. It would also make an excellent addition to any collection. I just don't have room for it in my new, one bedroom apartment. You arrange for shipping.

It’s my guess that this was being modified and was stopped mid-construction or was later modified for sale was these games started being removed from the Nevada routes.
