~ Here are a few pictures of Sirmo’s 1984 New Orleans to
help round out what’s out there ~ New Orleans is a nice clean 6-card Bingo, which means it doesn’t
have a whole lot of features, but… …it is a great game with a classy look to it. I like its
tie back to Bally too - I don’t know if Sirmo was aware of it, but
Bally used New Orleans as their primary test bed for the bingos –
They’d send the new machines down there to gauge their popularity. In the Don Hooker Interview he talks about going down there to
watch them a couple of times – One of the cool-little Bally perks. These were a 25-Cent / 10-Coin game in the 1980s, with a maximum
payout of 500. ~ Initially many of these were shipped to the USA and later,
these were purged from Belgium altogether ~ ……Mr. Davis kindly wrote in 2013…… Danny, Here are a couple of pictures. I put a
complete write-up of the repair project on Pinside. http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/repairing-a-sirmo-new-orleans-1984-bingo-machine One of the things I like about this machine,
apart from how easy it was to restore, is a feature I didn’t even know about until I started
playing with the switch settings… the multiplier. Once you load
it up to 10 credits you can continue spending credits, applying the
multiplier to any winnings for the game. Multipliers cost 10 credits
apiece and do exactly what you’d expect… pay 30 credits, multiply all wins by
3, for example. Not a feature I would ever have used in the real world… but in my garage it gets used a lot. Regards, Greg _ also see the archives and addendums for some newer postings _ Adding in the detail from my Addendum page – 2019`
