Question - Hi Guys. On my Golden Gate, there is a resetting problem on the Magic Screen. As you Bingo people know, when the screen is used and a new game is started, the screen will move a fraction to the left and then will reset by moving completely to the right until it reaches its normal position. Well, on my game, occasionally when I start a new game, the screen will not return or will move even further to the left. When this happens, I can hear the screen motor running constantly.  I then tilt the game and try again. Any ides where I should start to look for the problem.  Thanks....Roger

Answer - Seems like I have a similar problem with my Silver Sails, an identical game. The actual screen position is indexed with a contact disc underneath it.

If anything is preventing the screen from moving you will have a problem similar to this. In my case, the number glass behind the screen came loose and

prevented the screen from moving. In fixing that, the disc position did not match the screen position. It is an easy matter of rotating the screen to match.

The backglass on the Magic Screen games is exactly that, a glass pane positioned over the bingo card, providing a clear window to

view and shield the Magic Screen mechanism that sits inside the backbox`

The mechanism is a self-contained assembly consisting of a moving screen and fixed numbers panel`

If something jams or hangs-up, both can get of sync together, and the problem is mechanical`

Well Golden Gate and Silver Sails are basically the same machine and inside the head, the top cabinet, backbox is

a pictured instruction showing how to manually release the Magic Screen so you can turn it by hand to replace the bulbs

or whatever else you need to do like re-indexing everything - etc`

…if you have one of these machines, please send me a picture of the instructions`

All of the other games are exactly the same only a little different and involve the Index Plunger`

…pressing it into the Index Coil which releases the Index Cam and lets you step the Magic Screen`

…if you can add any detail here to help beginners, please let me know,

Thank you
