Gayety extra ball question

I'm almost finished with the
restoration. One thing that seems strange is when I try to buy extra balls. If
I hit the yellow button, then put in a nickel, it seems to work fine, but then
the EXTRA BALL light goes out, and I need to push the yellow button again
before I put in another nickel to try to buy an extra ball. My Broadway will
keep the EXTRA BALL feature lit until I push the green button (start a new game)
no matter how many nickels I put in when trying to buy extra balls. Also, I've
never been able to buy an extra ball on Gayety, so I think this is a symptom of
a problem in that circuit. Don't want to beat my head against a wall if this is
the way it is supposed to work.
Anyone have a Gayety setup? TIA
Steve

Since
we didn’t get an answer in 2008, I thought I’d re-ask here in 2020`
Three
