hear that bingo may be allowed to be played in French Cafe's as a way to
help them with their troubled finances. I guess in neighboring Belgium,
there are 11,000 bingo machines in their cafe's and it has really been a
great source of income for them.
It is up to the french Parliament to allow the games.
Feelings are mixed
however. Michel Denis at Splin commented: "I don't think it will
happen. We have seen attempts to do this for the past 20 years, but
French governments have always sought to protect their lottery, the
Francaise des Jeux."
Not only have the
cafe's been hit hard from the economy but so have people who enjoy playing
bingo. Many bingo halls have closed since the smoking ban and their just
aren't many places to play.
