~Bingo Collector~

In February 2008 Mr. John Lee-Thompson was kind enough to write and share some wonderful photos with me, which I am very fortunate to be able to post here today

Hi Danny,

I've just realised that I've been looking at your website for just over three hours and I've not even scratched the surface regarding all of the information you've stored on it.

So, I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed reading everything and how much I look forward to reading the rest (hopefully at my leisure).

I've attached a couple of pictures that I hope you find interesting especially the wonderfully and expertly restored Big Wheel which was on view at the recent retro 'Collector Fantasies' fair in Mechelen, Belgium.

I see from the pictures labelled 'Holland' you've managed to capture one of 'Ed' (Blue denim jacket, brown trousers) who has to be one of the great Bally Bingo electro mechanical engineers in the world.

Anyway, he and his friend 'Frans' beautifully restore Bally Bingo machines (usually pre-ordered by someone to whom they've been recommended) and sell them on for almost no profit but mainly to cover their costs and to keep Bally Bingo machines alive. They've recently restored a Key West for me and are now working on a County Fair.

Your great website is helping to keep the dream alive, well done pal!

Sincere regards,

John Lee-Thompson

(John also sent a 917K zip file titled “keywestfirststage” – I can’t wait to see what’s in there!)

~email two~

Danny, by all means use the pictures as you think fit and to the best advantage of you, your site and all Bally Bingo lovers. As a fairly frequent visitor to the US maybe one day I'll get to drop by and say 'hi'!

If I hear or see anything else that might be of interest I'll drop you another e-mail.

PS: I see that Peter Hoehbert (in Holland) has got his own webiste now - the url is

click on the UK Flag for translation into English

~Thank you Mr. Lee-Thompson – You Rock~
