Subject: parting out Wimi Miss Bowling Turbo bingo machine

Hi guys,

Just wanted to inform you I'll be parting out a Belgian Wimi Miss Bowling Turbo bigo machine.. If anyone would need parts of it, mail me at: averhe at hotmail dot
com, let me know what you need and make me an offer.. Especially interesting for bowling enthusiasts I think.. The playfield has bowling pins on it, the backglass has 2 lovely ladies playing bowling on it..  (almost every bowling shop in Belgium has the playfield of this machine as decoration - looks like there are already a lot of these machines parted out).

  ciao,

        Aeneas.

Aeneas is all over the rec.games.pinball newsgroup and his entries are definitely worth a search!!!!

I need help on my Sirmo bingo restoration! Because my coin door is missing, I need a little drawing of the harnessing of the coin door. (From the connector to the ends) My bingo is a Sirmo "Miss Americana", but I think all Coin doors from Sirmo are equal in this period of time (1982 - 1986)! Some one here who can help me?
THX in advance for every help!

You can try to contact them at http://www.sirmogames.com/ BUT this is not the old company, it has been taken over by Seeben.. So I don't know if they can help you or just bought the brand name only..

Well there are a few problems with older belgian bingos: - most belgian companies are in the french speaking part of belgium, so english emails are maybe even ignored - some of them just had webdesign outsourced and probably never read their email so you have to phone or fax - no-one is interested in supporting private owners of machines, even here in belgium, so probably they just don't care about machines abroad - no-one is interested in the older models and the major problem is: - a lot of these companies have been taken over, so the people there now may not know anything about old models as this was from another company..

After receiving the coindoor schematic from John I was able to build a little adapter to start the games! A few days later I get an offer for a coindoor from Aenaes from Belgium. In the meantime I put this coin door into my bingo and it works fine! So my problem is solved with help from the people here in the RGP! Many thanks to all who helped me to restore my Bingomachine! Pictures of the restoration of my Machine are avaiable here: http://www.pinballz.net/ipb/index.php?showtopic=1179

Cool looking game!  First old bingos that I've seen that had a MPU in it, too.  I'd suggest changing/removing/relocating that battery that's mounted on it. Maybe hard to find another board if that one is damaged by a battery failure. 6 knocker coils?!

Mounted on the board was one 3,6V accu (diagonal)! This accu was only for the two 5101. These where changed with the ee-prom adapter which need no more battery backup! Not 6 Knocker coils! These are 6 SOUNDCOILS! Notice the little pcb above the coils. This pcb gives the voltage with different frequencies to the sound coils. Soi the soundcoils buzzes in different frequencies.... (Soundboard for the poor....)

Good news for bingos:

Story dated 14th March, 2001.

There has been something of a revolution in coin-op games in Belgium. In bars and cafés throughout the country, slot machines (or AWPs - Amusements With prizes) have been disappearing leaving behind a perfect space for a pinball machine. The cause of the removal of the slot machines is a change in the laws covering the operation of coin-op machines. Pinball News reader BigBangJoe (Janick Pauwels) has researched the changes and relates the story:

In short, gambling in any form is strictly forbidden except those games which are approved by the Government. Slots were approved but after the government got complaints about youths getting addicted to it, this approval was revoked. The Government views those approvals not as a right to exploit those machines but as a favour - as an exception to the general rule - and they give themselves the right to withdraw those exceptions whenever they want. After the original law of 1902 and some amendments, gambling was redefined from scratch in 1997. In December 2000, the division of gambling equipment whatever into categories was reviewed, and slots have changed category. What is not included in this definition are games of skill - i.e. games with the following properties: It's allowed to ask some payment but...Pure luck is only partly involved in determining the outcome(that's where the skill comes in). The only profit the player is allowed to get is the favor of continuing play without having to pay extra (a free game or something like that).

A little JGC history:

NV John Gille Co is situated at the heart of Belgian Limbourg. Its name sounds English, yet it is a Belgian company, founded as a one-man business in 1968 by John Gille Sr, whose origins are indeed English. In 1988, the company was turned into a limited liability company: nv John Gille Co.

John Gille started with the installation of amusement games in cafes. Since he was in direct touch with the clients, he was also the one who got the most feedback on faults in the design. He started to look for solutions himself, thus creating a basis for the development of the automats. After a certain time, this resulted in the production of games.

In the course of the years, the range of products grew bigger. In 1990, the Belgian company ‘Jupiter’ was taken over, with about the most qualitative table football games on the world market. By now, the range of in-house products consists of table football games, billiard tables and money changers. Next to this, JGC offers an extensive assortment of cafe games.

JGC is at present a limited liability company managed by John Gille, his wife Anneliese Gabriëls and their son Johnny Gille. Together they run a staff of 26 people in a modern commercial building at Zutendaal.

Some Louisiana notes:

Beschrijving
