Page Created 11-21-2022 Gerald was reading my website, my Solid State Theory stuff, on the TLF stuff I posted and he confirmed that yes, that stands
for telephone and applied to the early Bingos His email shared this very interesting
insight as to “the mind set” of the early players` The TLF is abbreviation for telephone, the word
telephone was used because it has a "rotary switch" (see picture,
on it) So, for us in Belgium, the telephone (for a bingo)
is a small metallic box with a rotary switch on it, which is connected to a
bingo machine located inside the bar. By this time (EM machines), it was permitted for the
bingo machine to operate (with or) without coins ! In this case, you gave your
bill to the bartender, and he will put the amount of
credits to the bingo machine via the telephone. The telephone used (one or two) electromechanical
counters that will show the inserted amount of
credits, but also the collected amount (which was paid by the attendant) The telephone is also called remote control box
(mostly in wimi's machines) Later, the rotary switch disappear, and was replaced
by 5 or more switches with different values, but the name remain
! Even more later, electronic version was developed
but always on the same principle. A few days later he emailed me again very
excited about a few “sales” pictures on 2dehands fd 468339 <gerald.coy@skynet> To: Danny Leach Sun, Nov 13 at 6:36 AM I can't dig out the pictures, but
!!! Wow ! This is "amazing" this electronic replay
register was sold and developed by TSCC !!! It was
used before solid state machines, on EM bingos to replace the EM replay register (it
has a battery inside to keep the value) Very rare item ! https://www.2ememain.be/v/collections/machines-machines-a-sous/m1909591737-compteur-bingo-electronique?correlationId=a10333fc-367f-4fbc-86d0-b551a721ad3a Found also from the same seller : https://www.2ememain.be/v/collections/machines-machines-a-sous/m1881736172-bingo-boitier-points?correlationId=a10333fc-367f-4fbc-86d0-b551a721ad3a This is a telephone, before solid state ones, but
after ones with "rotary switches' on it ! AND FINALLY : (see
yourself) LOL LOL LOL LOL https://www.2ememain.be/v/collections/machines-machines-a-sous/m1907116222-bingo-telephone?correlationId=a10333fc-367f-4fbc-86d0-b551a721ad3a Laugh`…I love Coy _ Thanks Mate _ ~ ~ ~ |
