Jeffery Lawton has a lot of work in
this book, so I thought I'd help him here and promote it a bit :)
If you can afford $40 buy one, if not try and find a used copy and save your
self a little cash. Either way it is well worth the investment.
This book is heavily illustrated and you can see pics of every Bally Bingo
made. Quite a few of the photos are low quality and there are a few redundant
shots, but who cares right.........most were taken prior to the digital age.
Mr. Lawton shares his knowledge on the features of these machines and their
operation, and this book is also very informative in detailing the sequential
history of these Bingos.
The "Technical Tips" area is small but informative. It gives you a
good overview and can help trouble-shoot the true dog machines, ones that don’t
work at all.
The book is makes a nice gift for someone, and if nothing else rent it from the
library and copy the sections you want - everyone will find something here.....
But Hey! Don’t take my word for it; here
is what our German bingo buddies have to say:
Hallo Peter, sorry, dass ich
erst so spät antworte, bin selten in dem Forum...Hab mich ausserdem noch
vertippt: die Dinger BingO Machines. Das 'O' ist verschütt gegangen :(
Das Buxh, das ich habe heisst
Bally's Bingo Pinball Machines by Jeffrey Lawton, Schiffer Publishing, Ltd.;
Buchtitel/Autor/ISBN/Verlag was Du eben weißt.

Yes, not many people understand bingos. If you would like to read an article on
their history and characteristics read my article MULTIPLE COIN PINBALLS on my
website. Also, If enough people are interested I could also add another article
I wrote describing in detail how the later bingos with the "OK
feature" work Or I would email a copy to anyone who asks for it..

Wico Corporation - Who the frick are these truds?
Well apparently these are guys that know how to stay in business for sixty-some-odd years and know how to celebrate. This little pic is off their website (yes! you heard correctly) and is noteworthy. Their front page say they just celebrated their 60th annv in 2001 and this image below is the only thing on their “company profile” page.
This is why I love the Internet:

WICO / Coin-operated Parts & Supplies Catalog. Great
for identifying parts. Also interesting to see what things cost 50 years
ago. Parts included in this manual include: jukebox replacement plastics
and parts, pinball, suffle alley, and miscellaneous. Also has a Bingo pinball parts list, It lists 17
different bingo pins with part numbers and part description. Nice quick
reference if you collect older Bally bingo pinball machines. Games such as
Surf Club, Gayette, Big time, Hi Fi, Palm Springs etc. A dozen or so pages
of this book is for bingo machines. Has some illustrations as well. CONDITION: Very good for being about 50 years old.
Inside pages are very clean. There is a small tear on the cover. There is
no date on this catalog but there is a coupon attached to one of the pages
which states it expires Nov 30 1955 so it must be earlier than that date.
More than likely it is a 1955 catalog. Thanks for looking and Good Luck!!
