Where 2 Buy and What 2 Pay
Link I - eBay
Dan Leach humbly and sincerely writes: “I stand
corrected ebay and I apologize to you!”
I have been following ebay for months now and in some aspect they are
controlling the prices of the bingos, and then again some prices are wide open and you can
get some great deals………………..
I was very wrong
with in this sentence: “It's not some
auction house where great deals are lurking in the background where your
low bid, however outrageous, if the lowest will snag you a machine.”
The price fixing is with some of the dealers whom set a minimum price on
the pins they are selling: which is definitely their right, especially if
they are shopping them out and running a business – right.
What I appreciate about ebay is that they have
now started to post two prices on most of these “fixed price” machines.
They show the current bid and then a flat out buying cost.
I still say to be aware
here, there is some hidden costing. I see in some cases that you still have
to pay shipping costs over and above the sell price and this isn’t always
easy to see.
You can get some killer deals and likewise you can spend a fortune. Raymond
Watts is maintaining a page on Phil’s site that shows sell prices – both the
starting price and final sales price (minus shipping)

Many sub $250
The Highs – Ouch!

$1695 for a Continental
$1888 for a Golden Gate
$100 - $900
$1750 for a Sun Valley
$1275 - $1275
$75 - $1010 – Ouch!
$1850 for a Bikini
$1540 for a CanCan
$3750 (no friggin way) for a Silver

Link II - Mr. Pinball Classifieds
This is a shopping spot with lot's of machines, especially for you east coast
shoppers.
The site is very well organized, well kept, and very current - basically
it's a great web resource. In many cases the pricing is completely
outrageous, but I guess the market will bare - what the market will bare.
As of this writing (December 2nd, 2001) there were 28 entries, some 35
machines ranging in cost from $350 to $1500, with several up near that top
cost. There are several open for bid, which is great, and a couple from the
UK for L300 whatever the heck that is :)
Spending a $1000 dollars for a Bingo that you still need to ship is
completely over-the-top in my opinion. To do this, the Bingo would have to
truly be pristine, have low meter counts, have a known history, have spare
parts, and the have the manuals/schematics/flyers.
Note:
It's interesting to see the states where most of these Bingos are surfacing
from. Almost all of the pinballs from the 40s, 50s, and 60s were all being
designed and built in the Chicago area.
For the Bingos, most all of them were then distributed from Texas and
over-and-up throughout the eastern seaboard states. So it's no surprise
that most of these babies are being offered up from West Virginia, South
Carolina, Missouri, and Maryland. You'll find being out here on the west
coast is kind of tough, the ones posted from Az, Utah, Mont, and California
are the exception not the rule.

Gameroom Antiques sells Bingos, but has the caviat that they have not been

Cabbards site appears to have a lot of Bingos to sell and it looks as to if
pricing is negotiable. The only thing that scares me about this site, is there
is no date listed telling you the last time is was updated.

Bordens always seems to have some nice Bingos posted. In looking at their
home page today there was a little surprise, it looks like they have roped
Mr. Jeffery Lawton into helping them............hmmmm!

Casinocom.com's Bingo page
This page never looks to be updated so who knows what they really have, but
there is a pretty large list of Bingos posted as for sale and they offer
discount pricing if you buy by the lot. There is also some photos and a
really cool little animated bingo gif file :)

The
Mother Load – Posted 02/24/2003
Mr. Vic Camp writes me every now-and-then and subtly
mentions how he knows some folks, how he’s going to contact a few bingo
people, how is trying to get them out of the closet, trying to get them on
board – blah, blah, blah……………………….
He just never mentioned: “HEY HE
KNOWS SOME FOLKS”
Vic casually
mentions some guy named Mark, copies me on a simple 3 sentence email
between them – old friends quickly touching base, no biggie.
Totally bored
that day, I decide what the heck I’ll save Vic some time and so I take the
liberty and drop Mark my own email. A quick note on how I look forward in
hearing from him. How I’d be glad to mention his coin op business on my
site. Who knows, we might get lucky and throw a little business his way.
How it would be great to get a couple of photos if possible of the bingos
sitting together – if they are.
Weeks roll on by,
no word – nothing.
Then Mark
eventually writes and says: “Yeah! I got a few Bingos but I am kind of busy
right now, so I’ll get have to get back to you……………”
Just as off-hand
and casual as Vic
Wham! All of a sudden I get a set of emails that take
for ever to down load:

Thxs Mark – I
very much appreciate the pics & pins
